THE CLASS

01. WHAT IS MINDFULNESS, ANYWAY?
In this class we explore the power of mindfulness, which originated in ancient Buddhist traditions, and explore the scientific and subjective benefits that have made this technique of meditation the go-to practice of CEOs and your favorite athletes alike. We'll introduce the foundations of this practice, dispel some myths, and learn that meditation is something that you really can do, even if you've tried and felt like you were "bad " at it.
02. OPENING UP
Let's be honest, most of us have landed in this practice because SOMETHING feels unmanageable. Stress, anxiety, depression... pick your 21st century poison. In this class we'll learn about opening up to how we're holding emotion in the body, and explore techniques that allow us to relate to our experiences in a new way, finding that relief is far more available than we thought it was.
03. LETTING LOVE FLOW
It's human nature to want to love and be loved, but that longing may sometimes leave us feeling lonely, heartbroken and, honestly, pretty hard on ourselves and others. What if we start to broaden our horizons a bit, letting love flow beyond the conditions of romance, family and circle of friends? What if we could make our heart resilient and wide enough to accommodate everyone we encounter? In this class we explore our innate ability to love, learning the technique of loving-kindness practice and how it can prevent us from dividing the world up into people we like, don't like or actively ignore.
04. RELAXING INTO THE PRESENT
Coming full circle, in this class we'll integrate what we've learned and settle our bodies and minds into the present moment. We'll utilize our awareness to allow anything that comes up to be a gateway into a new way of being, discovering that the practice is truly unconditional and can support us anytime, anywhere, no matter what's going.
